Digital Footprint

After taking the quiz, I found out that I left a small footprint.

By taking the quiz, I found out that the media plays a major role in our lives. Everyone uses the media on a daily basis, sometimes not even noticing how much they depend on it. The internet, using cell phones, and even videogames are items that may leave a digital footprint. When describing my digital footprint, the internet is a major part of it. Almost everyday I use it for a variety of things. Most of the world would not be able to survive without it.

1. The type of film that the Eaton Theater is currently using is a projector that streams 35mm film.

2. The dilemma faced by the Eaton Theater and many other small theaters is that they are forced to make a choice. Either they go digital and survive or stick with traditional film and die off.

3. The movie company that will no longer be using film to create its movies is FOX.

4. Digital projectors are considered cost prohibitive because projectors are so expensive and costs upwards of $ 70,000.

5. The digital movie equipment causes the Eaton Theater to lose upwards of 20% of its annual profits because the theater is not making enough money to make a profit from the equipment.

6. The best solution for the Eaton Theater is to set aside some of the money they make from their profits to buy a projector. This way they are still making a profit.

RSS feeds can make life easier because you don't have to go to each individual website. You can just add all the websites, which gives youself a short cut to the content. From the news feeds that I have added, I have learned about a lot of information that i never would of bothered to look at. Since all the contents are on the same page, it is easier to look at everything.

Using creative commons allows users to feel safer about using an image of the internet. Fair use allows the public to use a picture based on the copyright principles of CC. When using CC, you do not get as many choices of pictures to chose from. It is important to use CC images because it prevents the public from breaking the law. It protects the public.
